I hope you are all doing well and are pulling through this extended patrol. When people complain to me about staying home, I just respond, " At least you have windows!" Stay healthy. I would say stay sober, but I know better. July 11, 2020 - We just received notice of the passing, in August 2015, of shipmate Martin Dale Weaver, former COB of the gold crew from 1977 to 1988 and was one of the longest serving shipmates ever aboard the Key. Diane received the below e-mail from Martin's brother Wilson. Martin's obituary can be found in Eternal Patrol. Rest in peace shipmate. Job well done. "Good day Ms Diane. My name is Wilson W. Weaver, I road
the Haddo and the Seahorse in the late sixties, actually 68-72. I was an IC2SS
when I got out in 72. My younger brother, Martin Dale Weaver, spent a lot of
time aboard the Key. He went in the Navy and because of my influence, entered
the silent service. He was a MM, one of the A gang, as we called them. My
nephew, also a vet, a member of the Army, noted that Marty was absent from the
crew list. He also knew that Marty was there for quite some time, at one point
he was the longest serving member on board. He went on in his career to
eventually become the COB on the Wyoming, SSBN 742, he was MMCM SS by then. I
can try to get a copy of his DD214, but I am sure that there are members that
would remember him. He passed in 2015 from lung cancer, he smoked. What can I do
to get him added to the crew list? It would be a good thing to do in his
remembrance. Feel free to contact me for more information or verification. I
appreciate it and pray you have a blessed day. Martin D. Weaver March 17, 2020 - The 2020 Reunion has been cancelled. A lot of things can change in just a few days. The virus outbreak makes the reunion too risky for our shipmates. Al & Diane Singleman have sent out the following e-mail to all shipmates. If you did not get it, Diane probably does not have your current address. Please update her at diane@ssbn657.com. Shipmates,
