October 8, 2019 - Searched the USSVI web site and found four Key shipmates that have passed recently: Harden, Herbert P.- 77- 80 Radioman; Murphy, Luther F,- 84 - 88 Missile Tech; Peterson, Robert W - Plank Owner ENC.; Carson, Lloyd - Quartermaster.  Their obituaries can be found in Eternal Patrol,  Rest your oars sailors.  Jobs well done.

October 2, 2019 - Sorry to announce the passing of M-Div shipmate (81 - 86) John Wesley Minnick, Jr.  John passed on July 27, 2019.  His obituary can be seen in Eternal Patrol.  The crew of the Key sends its deepest sympathies to John's family and friends.  Rest your oar sailor.  We have the watch.  Job well done.

July 2019 - Just received notice of the passing  in August 2018 of George "Zak" Zakarian.  His obituary is in Eternal Patrol.  We could use some more information on George from shipmates who remember him.  We send our sympathies to his family and friends and welcome George home to the Key.  Rest in peace sailor.  Job well done.

Also received notice of the passing of Charles Kenneth Davidson Jr  Nav ET 76 - 78 Blue Crew.  Charles passed on May 22, 2019.  Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.  Rest your oars sailor.  We have the watch.  Job well done.

May 22, 2019 - Sorry to have to add two shipmates to the Eternal Patrol list.  Kermit A. Sparks  and Glen A. Zimmerman.  Both were Plank Owners and have attended previous Key reunions.  They will be greatly missed.  We all send our deepest sympathies to their families and friends.  Rest in peace shipmates, we have the watch.  Job well done.

May 11, 2019 - Just received the news of the passing of a plank owner on the Key; Charles Austin Ames Sr; EMC (SS) Blue Crew 65 - 68.  Charles passed away on April 25, 2019. His obituary can be read on Eternal Patrol Page.  We wish his family and friends our deepest sympathies.  Rest your oars sailor.  We have the watch.  Job well done.

April 2, 2019 - Sadly, I have to announce the passing of a Key wife Barbara Sprecher, wife of Bob Sprecher.  Barbara passed on April 1, 2019.  Barbara and Bob were often at the Key Reunions.  We will miss her greatly and our deepest sympathies go out to Bob and his entire family.  Being the wife of a submariner is no day in the park and Barbara was with Bob throughout his time on the Key.  Her obituary can be found by clicking here.  Rest in peace.

Jan 24, 2019 . Received news of the recent passing of two Key shipmates; Melher, Paul J missile tech LPO on the blue crew in the late 60s and Beard, Percy M. commanding officer of the gold crew from 1973 to 1977.  The crew of the Key wishes to express their deepest sympathies to the families and friends of these two fine shipmates.  Rest your oars sailors, we have the watch.  Jobs well done.

                       

Jan 24, 2019 - Here is a document that will bring back some memories.  Plan of the Day for 2 July 1981.  For those guys on the dink list, get off the computer and get qualified.  It announces that the Polk had just completed the 2,000th FBM patrol.  That's a lot of patrol pin stars.  Our thanks to Neil Antin for sending it in.
