"Pete" Peterson of Poulsbo, WA
died December 30, 2006 at Harrison Medical
Center, Bremerton, WA. He was 62.
He was born June 8, 1944 in Auburn, WA. to
Anton and Elizabeth (Pittman) Peterson.
February 9, 1963 in Vancouver, WA. he
married Anita (Mingus) Peterson.
Gus graduated from Ft. Vancouver High
School in Vancouver, WA. in 1962.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a Master
Chief: received the Good Conduct
Award(G6), Meritorious Unit Commendation,
Expert Pistol Award, Battle "E"
(Third), Navy Achievement Medal, Armed
Forces Expeditionary, Sea Service
Deployment Ribbon, National Defense, and
many other awards.
He served 27 years in the Navy - retiring
in 1989.
Gus' Tractor and Mechanical - self
employed for the past 10 years.
He was a member of Rocky Mt. Elk
Foundation, Trout Unlimited, NRA, and many
others.
He enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, spending
time with family, anything outdoors in the
mountains or on a stream.
Gus is survived by spouse - Anita (Mingus)
Peterson of the Poulsbo, WA. family home;
mother - Betty Peterson of Vancouver, WA.;
son - Gus Peterson, Jr. (Jackie) of Port
Orchard, WA.; daughters - Denise Frost
(Marty) of Spanaway, WA., Erica Borden
(Gary) of Graham, WA.; brother - Jerry
Peterson (Debbie) of Charleston, S.C.;
sisters - Donna Peterson of Vancouver,
WA., Shirley Garrett Peterson of
Vancouver, WA., Georgia Peterson of
Spokane, Bonnie Womack of Vancouver, WA.,
3 grandchildren (Ashley, Heather, Joshua
Peterson); great-grandson (Skylar Jaymes -
on the way); special friends/extended
family: Sheridan Abbott, who reminded him
that work was for people who didn't know
how to fly fish.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday,
January 5, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Rill' Life
Tribute Center in Port Orchard, WA.
